We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
At St Felix Catholic Primary School Bankstown we recognise that parents/carers are the first educators of their children. We encourage a productive partnership with our parents/carers to ensure the best possible outcome for your children.
We welcome parental involvement in our school. Parents/carers may assist in the classroom, on excursions and at special events. All parent/carer helpers are required to complete a Volunteers Declaration Form.
School Hours
It is very important for your child’s learning that he or she arrives at school on time. Students are required to be at School by 8.40am. Students who arrive after 8:50am are required to sign in at the School Office before proceeding to their class. Classes finish at 2.50pm for all students. Students who need to leave before this time must be signed out in the School Office by an adult.
Our Breakfast Program
Research confirms that breakfast is the most important meal of the day for children’s health, academic achievement, cognitive development and mental health. Therefore, at St Felix we have a breakfast program, which is organised by the school canteen. Our school canteen like our Kitchen/Garden Program supports Healthy Eating Choices and as such provides opportunities by which students can put into practice the nutrition messages they are hearing at school. The canteen is based on the principles of the Australian Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents.
Students can purchase breakfast Monday to Friday from 8.10–8.30am from the school canteen.
